About University: MGKVP is a State University, located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, and was established on 10 February 1921 by Rastra Ratna, Bab Shiv Prasad Gupta and Bharat Ratna, and Dr. Bhagwan Das. The university was initially known as Kashi Vidyapith and renamed as Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith University in 1995.
